Tommy Bryant Under Fire for Use of Racial Slur

An Alabama city leader named Tommy Bryant is under heavy scrutiny after using a racial slur during a council meeting.

It took place in Tarrant, Alabama, where according to the latest Census numbers, it’s 53% Black.

Bryant’s wife allegedly used a racial slur on social media. He deflected on responding about his wife and told a Black colleague to stand up after he so boldly and comfortably asked if there were any House N-words in the room.

Brittney Cooper, who is an Africana Studies professor at Rutgers University, joins β€œPrime” to discuss the controversy and the definition of racism.

All this and more on β€œPrime.”
