UNC Board Grants Nikole Hannah-Jones Tenure, University Community Members Against Slow Response

The Board of Trustees at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has granted Nikole Hannah-Jones her tenure, after previously deciding not to even vote on the subject. Following days-long protests, community outrage and teaching staff resignations, the board voted in favor of granting her tenure. The move comes after collective disapproval and accusations of systemic racism at the university.

President of the Black Student Movement at UNC Chapel Hill, Taliajah M. Vann, and law professor at UNC, Erika K. Wilson, joined โ€œBlack News Tonightโ€ with Marc Lamont Hill to speak on the decision. Vann, who was in attendance of the meeting, also speaks about student treatment while they were there.
