The United Nations is planning to form a panel of three law enforcement and human rights experts to examine the causes of systemic racism.
The panel will research the relationship between the legacies of slavery, colonialism, and racial profiling. The goal of the panel is to make recommendations to governments across the world to help end the injustice done to the descendants of Africa by law enforcement.
After the U.N.โs announcement, Secretary of State Antony Blinken was invited the United Nations to study racism in America. It got pushback from conservatives like Nikki Haley who said itโs ridiculous for the U.N. to investigate America.
Dr. Phillip Atiba Goff, who is the co-founder and CEO of the Center for Policing Equity, joined Charles Blow on โPrimeโ to discuss Americaโs hypocrisy dealing with racism.
