Unpacking Kim Potter’s 2 Year Prison Sentence in Daunte Wright’s Death


Kim Potter was convicted in December on manslaughter charges for killing 20-year-old Daunte Wright as she claimed she mistakenly fired her gun instead of her taser during a traffic stop last April.

She was sentenced to 24 months, 16 of those months will be served in prison and the remaining eight months on supervised release.

An emotional Potter addressed the court before sentencing and apologized to the Wright family.
