Voting Rights Advocates Rely on State Courts To Fight Gerrymandering

The North Carolina state legislators recently approved a congressional map that groups Democratic voters into three districts, compared to 10 Republican-dominated districts and one more that is nearly evenly split.

Furthermore, the Supreme Court has made cases against gerrymandering increasingly difficult to win, so voting rights advocates have focused on fighting the practice in state courts.
