The alleged suspect in the Boulder shooting, 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, is set to be arraigned on Thursday. Junie Joseph, the Mayor Pro Tem of Boulder, Colorado, joined Start Your Day to talk about the shooting. She said community members have faced trauma from the incident but are coming together to help the victims’ families. “The message is that our communities, we are tired. Community members are tired,” she said. “Under President Obama, we had Sandy Hook. Under President Trump, we had Parkland, and today, in Boulder, we also had a mass shooting.” She also urged lawmakers on Capitol Hill to pass gun reform.
