
May 31, 2021, marks a day of remembrance for the murder and devastation from the Tulsa Massacre. It started 100 years ago and continued the following day in the area known as “Black Wall Street.” In recent years, there have been discussions of restitution for the survivors and descendants of the violent tragedy, but it has not come. New America Fellow and author Caleb Gayle explored the concept in his New York Times Magazine article titled “100 Years After The Tulsa Massacre: What Does Justice Look Like?” He joins “Start Your Day” with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to discuss his findings.
