What Thanksgiving Means to Native Americans


There are positive messages of Thanksgiving that some Native Americans embrace because it was already a way of life for them long before settlers arrived.

“The truth of the matter is, the history of Thanksgiving started with a massacre,” said Vincent Schilling, associate editor for Indian Country Today. “So, it’s pretty intense as far [as] historically.”

Schilling joins Kelly Wright on BNC’s “The World Tonight” to discuss what Thanksgiving means to Native Americans.
