Willie Stokes Served 37 Years in Prison for Murder He Didn’t Commit


Police and prosecutorial misconduct reached new heights in the case of Willie Stokes, a Philadelphia man who spent 37 years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said his office would not retry the case, officially clearing Stokes of all charges.

Criminal defense attorney Michael Diamond-Steen, who represented Stokes in his appeal, joins Yodit Tewolde on “Making the Case” to discuss his client’s wrongful conviction and well-being.
