Yodit Tewolde sits down with Stephanie L. Young, the executive director of “When We All Vote,” on the rise of voter suppression bills all across the country, most recently Florida, which passed new voting rights restrictions.
Young says that this is a nationwide problem and that it’s important for people to pay attention to what’s happening.
“Our goal is first educating, mobilizing, organizing and activating people to go out there to take action,” Young says. “Folks are counting on you to stay home. They’re counting on you to look away and to feel defeated.”
She asks for people to advocate for voting rights by calling their senators.
