With Kwanzaa on the horizon, there is a book called “The People Remember” that illustrates the holiday’s significance.
The debut picture book by the New York Times’ best-selling author Ibi Zoboi takes readers on a journey through the seven core principles of the holiday.
With the use of words and artwork by acclaimed illustrator Loveis Wise, she shows readers that their roots are not just sowed in trauma and suffering, but in communal remembrance by way of rich storytelling and unrivaled community building.
Zoboi joins Marc Lamont Hill on “Black News Tonight” to discuss the book.
All this and more on “Black News Tonight.”
