Dr. Anita Somani on Black Women and Breast Cancer

October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and OB-GYN Dr. Anita Somani joins β€œBNC Live” to discuss how breast cancer has impacted Black women.

Black women in the U.S. are more likely to die from breast cancer than other groups.

β€œI think the biggest issues are the access to care… There’s a disparity in terms of how easy it is for them to see their primary care physician; they may not have the ability to get there because of transportation; they don’t have doctors in their neighborhoods,” Dr. Somani says.

All this and more on β€œBNC Live.”
