Dr. Anita Somani on Black Women and Breast Cancer

October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and OB-GYN Dr. Anita Somani joins “BNC Live” to discuss how breast cancer has impacted Black women.

Black women in the U.S. are more likely to die from breast cancer than other groups.

“I think the biggest issues are the access to care… There’s a disparity in terms of how easy it is for them to see their primary care physician; they may not have the ability to get there because of transportation; they don’t have doctors in their neighborhoods,” Dr. Somani says.

All this and more on “BNC Live.”
