However, it’s a whole other world to run a campaign from a prison cell. There were five people, including Castón, that ran for the advisory neighborhood commissioner. But in the end, the 44-year-old was victorious, as he received 30% of the vote.
Castón made the point that his decision to run for office would inspire those who are behind bars and youth who don’t have any hope of succeeding due to their circumstances, that they can make a difference.
